Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation from Creighton University in 1969
Active Duty:
October 1970- December 1970: Medical Service Corps branch school, Fort Sam Houston, TX.
December 1970- September 1971: Ambulance platoon leader, Company B, 307th Medical Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Div, Fort Bragg, NC.
October 1971- April 1972: Administrative officer, 927th Psychiatric Detachment, 24th Evac Hospital, Long Binh Vietnam and then property book officer, Drug Treatment Center Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam.
May 1972- October 1972: Assigned to the 1st Medical Battalion of the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Reilly, KS in the operations section.
October 1972: Left active duty
